Club Career
Tom Christie came through Shirley Boys’ High School in the Crusaders region and joined the Crusaders Academy in 2016 after representing New Zealand Secondary Schools.
He made his first-class debut for Canterbury in 2017, earning a winners’ medal in the Mitre 10 Cup Final that year. He became a regular starter for the Crusaders from 2020, helping them to multiple Super Rugby titles.
In August 2025 he signed a two-year deal with Newcastle Red Bulls, becoming the first major signing under the club’s new era.
Honours & Representative Career
Won the World Rugby U20 Championship with New Zealand U20 in 2017, and captained the side in 2018.
Part of Crusaders squads that won Super Rugby titles in 2022, 2023, 2025.
Won the Mitre 10 / NPC title with Canterbury in 2017.

Christie is known for his high work rate, physicality and breakdown effectiveness. He brings consistency in defence, strong carrying, and leadership qualities developed from his age-grade captaincy.
