SEBASTIAN DE CHAVES NOMINATED AT THE RUGBY AWARDS 2026

Newcastle Red Bulls second-row forward Sebastian de Chaves has been shortlisted for Community Player of the Season award at The Rugby Awards 2026.

For a second season, PREM Rugby, the Rugby Players Association (RPA), Premiership Women’s Rugby (PWR) and the Rugby Football Union (RFU) have joined forces to celebrate the very best of English rugby at The Rugby Awards, presented by Gallagher.
Taking place on Wednesday June 10 at Old Billingsgate in London, the awards ceremony will be broadcast live for the first time on TNT Sports and HBO Max from 9pm.
De Chaves, who has made 93 appearances for the club, has become a hugely respected figure both on and off the field during his time at Newcastle Red Bulls.
Alongside his rugby career, the 35-year-old is training to become a sport and exercise psychologist and is the founder of Mind Athletic, a performance psychology consultancy focused on supporting athletes and high performers.
De Chaves is among a four-player shortlist for the Community Player of the Season award, presented by Funding Circle.
